The LEO Club of Sekolah Menengah Tanah Putih, Kuantan had organized the ‘16th Installation Night of LEO SMTP’ on the 27th August 2010 (Saturday). This auspicious event took place at the Grand Ballroom of Vistana Hotel, Kuantan.
The main objective of this event is to install our new Board of Directors and to induct new members. We also hope to strengthen the bond between LEOs and LEO members, in order for members and non-members to explore more about LEO Club and to get new members to join our club.
The event started with the welcome parade. This session was to welcome the Lions, VIPs, LEOs, Leo Representatives, Outgoing Board of Directors and Incoming Board of Directors. All participants gave their thundering clap as signs of welcoming.
Presiding Officer, LION Karen Nah, Zone 3 Chairperson, LION Sabrina Yap, DC for Leo Clubs Development Zone 3-5, LION Aw Luan, Our LEO Adviser, Lion Joyce Khow, 5 Lion Representatives and our faculty adviser, Mr, Sebastian attended our event as VIPs. Besides, there were 3 representatives from LEO Club of SMK Air Putih, 3 representatives from LEO Club of SMK Cenderawasih, 2 representatives from Omega LEO Club of Kuantan City and 3 representatives from Interact Club of SABS.
There were 10 new members inducted by our LEO Adviser, Lion Joyce Khow. They pledged to be LEO member and were presented their membership cards. After that, the President of Lions Club of Kuantan, Lion Karen Nah as the presiding officer installed our Board of Directors for fiscal year 2010/2011. Our new B.O.D. gave 3 loud roll calls. Roar! Roar! Roar! This symbolized the spirit of LEOs with the energetic roll calls.
We also had some entertainments in our event, such as Popping, Singing by LEO member, Dancing Performance by Leo Directors including our president, secretary and treasurer and our theme show, CABI.
Later, we had lucky draws. We got a steamer and a rice cooker sponsored by Lion Karen Nah as the grand prizes for our lucky draw session.
At around 10.30pm, our event ended with the photographing session. We took group photographs and some photographs with friends as parts of our memories.
We paid the balance for the ballroom and we counted the money that we earned from the event. In a nutshell, we enjoyed this memorable and meaningful event very much. We hope to do better for the next event.
