Zone 3 Lions Clubs Joint Instalation of Presidents and Board of Directors 2011-2012

On the 14th August 2011, our Club Key Officers (President - Leo Zu Jian, Secretary - Leo Wen Tzien and Treasurer - Leo Zhi Chew) together with Leo Tamer, Leo Dolly Wong had represented LEO SM Tanah Putih to the Zone 3 Lions Clubs Joint Installation of Presidents and Board of Directors 2011-2012. The principal speakers of this event was District Governor 308-B1, DG Ln. Dr. Ben. Ng. A number of Cabinet Key Officers and Lions also attended this auspicious event.
District Governor also presented the District Pin to the Leo Club Presidents of LEO SM Tanah Putih, SMK Air Putih and SMK Cenderawasih. The other directors also get the pin from him.

Leos had taken several photos with Lions, Presiding Officer-Ln. Karen Nah (LC of Kuantan), Lion Cabinet Officers and DCs.
We have a great dinner on that evening.

Visitation to Old Folks Home of TiongHua Association Kuantan

30 Leos and our Faculty Adviser, Pn. Siti had participated in the 'Visitation to Old Folks Home of TiongHua Association Kuantan'.
We took bus there. We brought washing detergents, biscuits, sweets went there for a visit.
Meanwhile, we also did cleaning the compound area of the Old Folks Home.

Later then, we have entertainments such as singing and dancing. We have lots fun there.
We distributed the biscuits and sweets to the Old Folks before we leave there. A press reporter from Sin Chew Daily had came and reported our project. The news was in Sin Chew Daily, East Coast Edition, 14th August 2011.

Leo National Day Quiz 2011

On the 12th of August, the Leo Club had organized the Leo National Day Quiz 2011. The quiz started at 12.30pm on that day. 35 Leo Members had participated in this competition.

The result of winners will be announced next week.
Three winners will be selected based on the number of questions correct and the creativity of slogan created.

Attended 40th Anniversary Charity Dinner by Lions Club of Kuantan

On the 19th of March 2011, the LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih, Kuantan had sent 3 representatives to attend and lend helping hands to the 40th Anniversary Charity Dinner of Lions Club of Kuantan. LEO Tan Kai Hong (President), LEO Sham Ying Ying (1st Vice President) and LEO Sham Wei Wei (Director) had represent our club to attend this auspicious and meaningful event.

Our LEOs did helped Lions to arrange the bannerette for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. They enjoyed themselves very much in this event with the performances. LEO SMTP also sent a LEO representative, LEO Wong Lih Ruh to perform in this event. Many Lions from different clubs did attend this meaningful event too.
Last but not least, Happy 40th Anniversary to Lions Club of Kuantan!

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih, Kuantan had lent helping hands to the school in arranging the chairs and tables for the venue of PIBG General Meeting of SMKTP. We did our works and tasks instructed by the teacher-in-charge on the 26th March 2011 right after the decorating and renovating session of LEO Garden.
9 LEOs were helped out in arranging the venue for the general meeting. We did tasks such as carrying and arranging the tables and chairs. We did our tasks within an hour.

Renovating and Decorating LEO Garden

The LEO Club of Sek. Men. Tanah Putih, Kuantan had renovated and decorated the LEO Garden to beautify it. Thus, 9 LEOs had worked out and we did it successfully.
We took almost 2 hours to beautify and decorate the LEO Garden with planting trees, little plants and put on paths.

2nd International Relationship Night of LEO SMTP

Objectives : To foster closer the relationship among SMTP LEOs and
LEOs from other clubs included clubs from District 308-B1
and 308-B2. Besides, we would like to have an opportunity to
interact with the AFS Exchange Students which we can know
more about them. This is also to provide an opportunity to
strengthen the friendship bonds among all the Leo members,
from near and far.

The LEO Club of Sek. Men. Tanah Putih had organized the 2nd International Relationship Night on the 18th March 2011 (Friday) at MS Garden Hotel, Kuantan. The theme of HOI-YI has been chosen as the theme for this function because this word, Hoi-Yi brought a great message of making friends in Korean to us.

Our beloved principal, Mr. Moy Wah Goon with our faculty adviser, Madam. Rafiah had lent their time to our auspicious event. Besides, we had also invited the Lions President from Lions Club of Kuantan, Lion PS Wong and Zone 3 Chairperson, Lion Hwung Chew Hong to our night.

3 members of Lions Club of Kuantan, 7 members of Lions Club of Indera Mahkota, 2 LEOs from LEO Club of SMK Air Putih, 2 LEOs from LEO Club of SMK Cenderawasih, 2 Interactors from Methodist’s Girl Secondary School, 2 Interactors from SMK St. Thomas and 2 members from Kiwanis Key Club of Kuantan.

An amount of 15 tables were placed in the ballroom and there were full with joys and funs! We had nice performances and great dances in the night. The Jeannie’s Dance Studio had sponsored us 3 dances which attracted the ladies and gentlemen. Our organizing chairperson committees were involved in performances.

Beach Cleaning in LEO Leadership Camp 2011

The LEO Club of Sek. Men. Tanah Putih had assisted the Lions in ‘Beach Cleaning Activity’ in LEO Leadership Camp 2011. This activity is meaningful and must be carried out to protect the environment and the cleanliness of beach by cleaning up the beach.

Our GO GREEN Marathon Project Green Crews had ready and started to clean up the beach with the LEOs as well as Lions. We collected several bags of rubbish and we had gave full co-operation to them.

LEO Leadership Camp 2011

Objectives : To develop and enhance the leadership skills of LEOs from 3
clubs in Kuantan; To strengthen the relationship between
LEOs and provide a platform for LEOs to interact between
each others.
Date : 12th, 13th & 14th March 2011

The LEO Club of Sek. Men. Tanah Putih had sent a total number of 24 LEOs to the LEO Leadership Camp 2011 on the 12th to 14th March 2011 at Amansari Resort, Pantai Sepat, Kuantan.

We gained lots of knowledge from this camp. Over 55 LEOs from LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih, SMK Air Putih and SMK Cenderawasih were gathered in this camp. All of us got to know each and another. This camp had developed and enhanced the leadership skills of LEOs through the programs and games. Apart from this, we had strengthened the relationship between 3 clubs’ LEOs. We managed to mix around as we were assigned in different groups with other LEOs.

Through the motivation talk which titled ‘The Will to Succeed’ by Lion Wong Seng Chong, we found that if there’s a will, there’s a way. We must have a will before we succeed in doing anything. The way to succeed included communication skills, knowledge, competing, integrity, inspire others and arts of persuasion. We were also taught of ‘Money Work for You!’ Through this topic, we can manage our financial problem with the advises from Lion Wong.

Besides, we had another motivation session by Lion Vincent Hoh which titled ‘Attitude 1st’. Before Lion Vincent start this session, we were told to make new friends around us from other clubs that you haven’t know him or her. All of us really have fun in this session. ‘Attitude 1st’ meant the way of regarding things, the reaction to person or thing and the posture of our body. We were taught of many values in this session included the effects of being in comfort zone, such as arrogant, blame others situation, complacent, DIE, Egoistic and FEAR (False, Evidence, Appearing and Real), 6 principles for success, positive mental attitude, SMART (Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic and Time-board), Discipline, Attractive Personality, Enthusiasm, Attentiveness, Accurate Thinking and Team Spirit (Together, Everyone, Achieve and More) and Winners VS Losers. In this motivation session, we had played games and had activities for the respective sub-topics. This really made lots of fun for us.

We gained lots of knowledge from the motivation talk by Lion Vincent. We can apply this knowledge in our daily life to make a difference after joining this leadership camp. Based on the quotes above, a leader will be SUCCESS if he/she follows the quotes above. We knew that, to change our attitude is a BIG challenge but please do not have procrastination habit. Think of it! You will be SUCCESS with good characteristics.
We also had our groups’ presentation session, sand-castle building competition and treasure hunt. We managed to plan a stage performance in a short time. Although we do not need ample of time to plan for the stage performance, but we had succeeded and won prizes. A leader with good leadership skills will overcome the problems met and find the solution in a short time. Overall, we were really enjoyed and had a lot of laughter in this camp. Enjoy!

Last but not least, we sincerely thank Lions for organizing this camp and let the LEOs gained knowledge and so enhance their leadership skills as well as have an opportunity to interact with the other LEOs.

Odd Job Day for International Relationship Night 2011

Objectives : To raise fund for our up-coming I.R. Night.

The LEO Club of Sek. Men. Tanah Putih had organized the annual Odd Job Day to raise fund for our International Relationship Night 2011 which will be held on 18th March 2011. This odd job day was under the leadership by our BOD – LEO Low Hui Ting and this project had made a SUCCESS. Overall 50 LEOs were assigned to 4 groups which were Kubang Buaya & Alor Akar, Sri Galing & Air Putih, Bukit Setongkol and Kampung Jawa. We started our project at 7.30am and ended at around 6.30pm. So we had put in effort for around 11 hours to work this out. Fortunately, we did not wasted our time and energy because we had raised RM2,388.00 successfully in 11 hours time at 4 different housing areas. We did jobs and tasks as mowing the lawn, cutting grass, watering plants, washing cars, washing floors, cleaning gardens, vacuuming cars, washing carpets, sweeping floors, etc. With this odd job day, we were glad to hear that SMTP LEOs are professional in doing household chores. Besides, we were praised by our school Principal at the assembly that SMTP LEOs had the determination of doing ODD JOBs to raise fund under the hot sun.
Our initial target for this odd job day was RM2,100.00 for the total. But we did more that that. By comparison, we had earned RM508.00 more than last odd job we did on the 11th July 2010 (Odd Job Day for Installation Night). So, we will keep our spirit, determination and our ‘professionalism’ as well in raising funds by doing odd job. Cheers!

GO GREEN Marathon Project: Community dé Zero Waste

The GO GREEN Marathon Project is continued by the Community dé Zero Waste GREEN Program. Our 2nd Vice President, LEO Chee Shi Wen conducted this program successfully with the helps from the Project Chairperson, LEO Sham Ying Ying, President, Secretary, BODs, members and participants. We collected the litters and rubbish around the Taman Gelora area. We serviced about two hours and we collected four bags of rubbish successfully on time. Although this was just a little green program, but we must do this to provide a more comfortable area for the visitors and SAVE our Mother Earth with this GO GREEN Marathon Project.

LEO Farewell Party and Reunion Hi-Tea

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih Kuantan had organized the LEO Farewell Party and Reunion Hi-Tea on the 30th January 2011 (Sunday) with the Outgoing BOD for Fiscal Year 2009/2010, the current BODs and members.
We have our Hi-Tea buffet at The Zenith Hotel from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. Most of the Outgoing BODs attended this party and so were the members. All of us have funs there.

Visitation to Handicapped and Mentally Retarded Children Centre Kuantan

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih Kuantan had organized the Visitation to Handicapped and Mentally Retarded Children Centre Kuantan on the 29th January 2011 (Saturday) from 9.30 am to 12.30pm. 43 LEO members had participated in this project. We travelled there by bus and were accompanied by our Faculty Adviser, Mr. Sebastian.

We brought packets of rice, packets of washing powder and boxes of mandarin to them. Our fund raising director, LEO Chew Pei Ying brought red packets and distributed to the inmates there for the Chinese New Year celebration. Besides, we also brought the winner’s writing of Calligraphy Competition to there for decorations.

We did decorations, sang songs, dances and chit-chatting with the inmates there. They were very enjoying with us and so were the members. They danced with the inmates and talked with them. Few LEOs were touched when they sang ‘Mother is the best in this world (In Chinese)’. And so they cried when singing. One of the inmates told us that she want to back home and find her mother after singing this.

We spent around 3 hours there and we were very happy. This showed SMTP LEOs are caring and lovely person. We hope that we can come for visits again.

LEO Calligraphy Competition 2011

After the interview session for International Relationship Director, our club’s key officers had made the decision. LEO Tan Chee Yen had resigned from International Relationship Director and moved to Ipoh. Thus, LEO Bek Xu Li who is an Active Member of our club had become our International Relationship Director for Fiscal Year 2010/2011. He participated in many activities and projects held by our club and so were the Lions YES Camp 2010. He was one of the Outstanding Camper too. We hope that all committee members can become more co-operative to organize projects and activities.

Fund Raising Project: Chinese New Year Selling 2011

The LEO Club of Sek. Men. Tanah Putih had organized the annual fund raising project which was the Chinese New Year Selling 2011. This was to raise fund for our club and so to celebrate the up-coming Chinese New Year. Through this project, students can write wishes on their little gifts and we send to their friends. This would help them to build a stronger friendship too. We sold sweets and chocolates in packets. All packaging process was 100% self-made. Finally, our club had raised RM161.00 for this project.

7 LEOs from LEO Club of Sek. Men. Tanah Putih Kuantan had registered in the Lions YES Camp 2010 as campers. All of us had a great 4 days and 3 nights there. We got knew lots of friends there and we had activities together. Through this camp, we knew that TEAMWORK is very important in our life and whenever is needed. Without teamwork, the whole team will stop there and can’t fulfil the task given. Next, we were told the 12 important KEYs by the Lions there included the notes prepared by Lion Dr BenC Ng, Lion Ching and DC Lion Sashekala. Then, we experienced much through the obstacle course, flying fox, 12-feet wall, night jungle trekking and so on. Besides, we also got nice food and a big dome for us. We interacted in the dome and be friends instead. Wow~ A new and nice experience in Lions YES Camp 2010 and we will register in this year’s – Lions YES Camp 2011 as well.

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih Kuantan had organized ‘GO Green Marathon Project’ throughout this fiscal year 2010-2011. Thus, the organizing committee had organized this Launching Day for this project successfully on the 11th December 2010 at Berjaya Megamall, Kuantan.

The objective of this project is an effort to let LEOs and the community know more about ‘GO GREEN’ Project by the Government or Non-Government Organization; To organize more ‘GO GREEN’ Projects those are eco-friendly and let the children know more about 3R Concept through competitions and exhibitions; To plant more trees and greened the town-area or school compound and to create awareness among students and the community about Global Warming and why we should do GO GREEN Projects.
This project is supported by Lions Club of Kuantan, Kuantan Municipal Council, Department of Environment (JAS), Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS), Local Agenda 21, Canon Marketing Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Tupperware Brands. Besides, our Official Press is Sin Chew Daily. Sin Chew Daily published our event on the newspaper to let publics know our event and join us. Next, the Management of Berjaya Megamall lent us a helping hand as our Venue Sponsor for this launching day.

The President of Kuantan Chinese Cultural and Theatre Arts, Dato’ Bruce Low Nyong Meng, DIMP. as our Launching VIP for this project had successfully launched this project on that day and he was accompanied by Mr. Kelvin Ooi (East Coast Region Manager of Canon Marketing Malaysia), Mr. Tan Kian Seng (Representative of Sin Chew Daily), Dato’ Bruce Low Nyong Meng, DIMP (Launching VIP), Lion Wong Peng Soon (President of Lions Club of Kuantan), LEO Sham Ying Ying (Organizing Chairperson of Go Green Marathon Project 2010-2011), the Manager of the Management of Berjaya Megamall, Kuantan and LEO Lim Zu Jian (Organizing Chairperson of GO Green Marathon Project Launching Day).
Jeannie’s Dance Studio sponsored us 5 dances and performed on our Launching Day and attracted many people to our place. The hall was surrounded with lots of people. Canon Marketing
Malaysia had sponsored us FREE photos printing too. The organizing committee board had made this a SUCCESS!

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih had also set up a booth to sell our GREEN Button Badge, T-Shirts and Recycle Bags (sponsored by Canon Marketing Malaysia) to raise fund for this project. In this launching day, we had raised RM400.00 for our Project Fund! Cheers!

There were thousands of people who came for this event. This was an awareness campaign to let the public and communities know more about our health and to be alert. The officer told the public on the benefit and the use of walking 10,000 steps per day. It’s good for our health.

We were in-charge of distributing breakfast and recycle bags to the participants.

The LEO Club of Sekolah Menengah Tanah Putih, Kuantan had lent a helping hand to the school in the ‘SMK Tanah Putih – Tiger Charity Concert 2010’.

8 helpers from our club helped in this event. We were in-charge of welcoming the V.I.P. Guests. Few hundreds of people came to this charity concert and enjoyed it very much.

Our LEO Club had also donated RM100.00 to this charity fund. These funds will be used to build a new hall in our school. We hope that our future generations have a good and nice environment to study.

Mural Repainting Project II

8 BODs lent helping hands in this project and sacred their holiday to help us in this repaint work.
We continue our painting and we did it well. We painted the birds, flowers and butterflies which are looked real. It’s amazing.

Through this project, we found that the BODs and LEOs in our club have much talent in drawing and painting. Cheers!

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih had lent a helping hand in Mural Repainting Project in school to repaint the murals which were painted several years ago.

11 BOD and 3 members lent helping hands in this project and willing to come to school for this project although it was a school holiday.

All of us repaint the murals with the colours and materials prepared and given by the teacher-in-charge. We painted for about 3 hours but we were not finished painting yet. We continue to paint on the coming next week.

We hope that we can also give new registered-students for year 2011 have a good image for our school.

The LEO Club of Sekolah Menengah Tanah Putih, Kuantan had successfully organized the ‘LEO Children’s Day Celebration 2010’ on the 31st of October 2010 at Rapha Children’s Home, Beserah, Kuantan. This celebration is a part of our LEO with Children’s project.

There are 32 children in this Home. All of us enjoyed this celebration with games, entertainments, performances and funs! Our committee board thought of creative games which can entertain the children and they will have an unforgettable Children’s Day this year. We saw the children were very enjoy and happy when playing games.

LEOs prepared singing and hip-hop dance for performance session. ‘Shining Friends’ by 2R were brought to them by the Form 1 & 2 LEOs while the hip-hop dance -‘Hoe-down Throw-down’ from Hannah Montana were brought to them by Form 3 LEOs included the Organizing Chairperson, Secretaries and 4 active members.

Lastly, we distributed 32 packets of presents to the children for this celebration. The happiness and joyful were flowing deeply in their bloodstream… We hope they will have a Happy Children’s Day this year!

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih had lent a helping hand in Kuantan Heart Week from 13th to 17th of October 2010. This project was organized by Yayasan Jantung Malaysia and jointly organized with Malaysia’s Ministry of Health and Lions Club of Kuantan with the co-operation of Pahang State Health Department, Kuantan Parade Management Sdn Bhd, Kuantan Specialist Hospital, Mahkota Medical Centre Sdn Bhd and Kuantan Nursing College.

Our LEOs went for service in these days and we did giving fliers, measuring height and weight (BMI) of patients, judging the winner for Children Colouring Contest and registration works for Blood Donation Campaign.

Through this project, we had gained knowledge and experiences.

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih had lent a helping hand in Table Arranging for PMR Examination 2010 on the 1st of October 2010 (Friday). LEO serviced for about 2 hours in arranging the tables and chairs in the examination halls and classrooms.

With the helping hands of LEOs, students and teachers, the tables and chairs were arranged according to the table plans given in a short while. Besides, LEOs also helped the PMR candidates to paste their important documents on the upper-right of their tables.

After 2 hours, all tables and chairs were set and arranged neatly in the examination hall and classrooms. LEOs did another school service project!

Visit to Tzu Chi Recycling Centre, Kuantan

On the 26th of September 2010 (Sunday), the LEO Club of Sekolah Menengah Tanah Putih, Kuantan had organized a ‘LEOs Visit to Tzu Chi Recycling Centre’ at Jalan Beserah, Kuantan. A total of 6 Board of Directors scarified their family days and lent a helping hand in this project.

We started our work of separating recycle items and non-recyclable items at 9 o’clock. We then put the recyclable items according to the categories. The volunteers of Tzu Chi taught us useful knowledge regarding ‘RECYCLE’. All of us worked hard and gain knowledge. We ended our work at 11 o’clock and we went back.

Through this environmental project, we learned to LOVE and SAVE our Earth by doing RECYCLE. We must do recycling project to save our Earth and get away from natural disasters, such as earthquake and flash flood that may be occurred in our country Malaysia in the future.

Lastly, our BOD had decided to lend a helping hand at Tzu Chi Recycling Centre at least once a month to do recycling project.

The LEO Club of Sekolah Menengah Tanah Putih, Kuantan had organized ‘LEO Moon Cake Selling 2010’ as our fund-raising project for this month and in conjunction with the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival celebration.

The main objective of this event is celebrating the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, raising fund for our club and strengthening the friendship of students through messages and moon cakes delivered to them.
There are total 5 flavours of ‘agar-agar’ moon cake in selling, included honeydew, lychee, red bean, corn and longan flavours.

We took order from students at our school canteen during our recess time everyday. Students wrote on the order list and paid for their orders. We sold one moon cake for RM1.80 while RM8.00 for 5 moon cakes which RM1.00 cheaper. The deadline for ordering moon cakes was 23rd of September 2010 and we had distributed the moon cakes from class to class on the 24th of September 2010 after school.

At last, we earned RM 198.30 for this moon cake selling project.

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih had jointly organized ‘LEO Amazing Race – Race for Charity’ with Omega LEO Club of Kuantan City successfully on the 5th of September 2010. This project was also in partnership with Lions Club of Kuantan, Lions Club of Kuantan City, Rotarian Club of Indera Mahkota, Interact Club of SMK Saint Thomas and MGSS, Sin Chew Daily and St. John Ambulance of SMK Tanah Putih, Kuantan.

It was a rainy day in the morning with drizzling. All the participants and committee members were holding their umbrellas and gathering at the centre of our main counter. The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Lion Wong Peng Soon who accompanied by our Principal, Mr. Moy Wah Goon and the manager of YORK who sponsored t-shirts for our event. There were 129 participants and around 70 committee members played an active role in this event. 5 Lion members from Lions Club of Kuantan also presented themselves there too.

The Amazing Race started at 9.00am with the ‘siren’ sounded by Lion PS Wong and Mr. Moy. All the participants got their map and a donation box to raise fund for their groups. 20 game stations were set for the participants. They were enjoying themselves in the journey. Each group were guarded by a guardian who will take care of the members’ safety. RELA Association members and traffic polices also lent their helping hand for us to joy this project successfully.

The games let the participants learned the importance of co-operation with the group members and guardians, leadership skills; blindness and have an experience to collect fund from the pedestrian on the road (socialize with others). They had an opportunity to try the games that have not played before this. These were also matched with our LEO motto, Leadership, Experience and Opportunity.

The fund collected was RM2348.70 and will be donated to the charity homes. 50% of the collected funds will be donated to D.I.C. Aids Home Kuantan, 25% will be donated to Rapha Children Home while another 25% will be donated to Alor Akar Care Centre (Orphanage). Besides that, we collected some packets of old clothes and used toys too.

The event was ended at around 5.00pm with the closing ceremony by Lion PS Wong. He also presented the prizes to the winners’ groups and the group which raised the most amounts of funds. Fruit baskets were also presented to the sponsoring clubs and main sponsor.

We cleared and cleaned the venue we used. We also collected rubbish around Teluk Cempedak Beach, Kuantan.

We did a meaningful charity project to help those in need. Finally, we had an enjoyable and memorable experience with the others in this joint project with the Omega LEO Club.

The LEO Club of SM Tanah Putih had organized ‘LEO Merdeka Quiz’ successfully. The main objective of this activity is to let students know more about our unique country and practice patriotism in conjunction with the Merdeka Month Celebration Year 2010.
This quiz started at 12.30pm and ended at 1.00pm. There were all 30 participants included LEO directors and members. There are 40 questions in a set of question paper. A total of 30 sets of questions papers distributed to the participants when all were arrived.
The sequence of ranking was based on the participants who handed in earlier with the higher marks. The highest mark for this quiz is 92.5% (37 per 40 questions) with two participants who got the same marks.

This event had successfully organized by the committee members and the Organizing Chairperson, LEO Sham Ying Ying as the 1st Vice President.

The function started at 8pm with the Grand Welcome Parade to welcome the VIP Guests. The night continued with welcome dance by JDS Junior Crew, Formal Initiation & Installation Ceremonies, Speeches, Dances, Magic Show, Singing and Lucky Draws.

Hey LEOs,

We ( Shi Teng | Yi Lain| Suek Yen| Kristal | Zhin Whee | Edwin | Zu Jian ) had return back from 37th MD 308 Leo Forum in Ipoh. We went for three days two nights which is from 11th - 13th June 2010. Let's talk about our jouney!

We departed from Kuantan Terminal at 9pm and reached Ipoh's Medan Gebang Terminal at around 3am. We walked to the nearest McDonald for a rest as the terminal is too dark and "peopleless". We walked about 1KM. Tired! It's in the midnight! 19 of us just cross the roads with our luggages. Finally we reached Mc Donalds. The Leo Forum Committee fetched us by a Proton Wira which we squeezed ourselves 4 in a car. Wow! Amazing...

Ten minutes over, we reached Tower Regency Hotel & Apartment, Ipoh. We waited in the lobby while waiting the others of us coming. Leos from Kluang were also at there at that time. Later, 19 of us (TP Alpha Leos & Kuantan City Omega Leos) were there already. We needed to rent an apartment because we can't stay at the lobby although there was a little while, just few hours. There was comfortable sofas in the lobby where we can rest there. But, we couldn't. We rented an apartment with 2 rooms with Kluang Leos. 20++ of us stay in this small apartment and costed RM7++ per person. All of us stay and sleep there because of our tiredness. In the morning 7am++ we all woke up. We walked out from the hotel under the tour guide of Omega Leo - Leo David. We went for our breakfast but there was a lot of the Ipoh's residence in the coffee shops and restaurants. The people there were very early to have their breakfast. So, we went to a little shop for our breakfast. It's 9am something when we were back. There were Leos in the lobby waiting. We went up to our apartment and packed our luggage and went to the lobby.

We were instructed to Level 6 to leave our luggage there... What again?! We just came down and need went up again... No doubts, we went for it... Then, came to the lobby again.

We waited for a long time. We sat in the lobby. Wait... Wait... and Wait.... Finally, time flies and it was 10.45am.... The registration of 37th MD308 Leo Forum started. The Chief delegates and representatives were lining up in front of the secretatiat room where is the registration counter. They got Forum Kits, Forum Shirts and ID Tag there. Our guys got the room key but our girls did not.

We were instructed to Level 1 - Grand Ballroom. we sat in a roll. It was the booth selling - The Fiesta of Colours!!! Several clubs were selling their booth, including shirts and badges. We went around for our acquisition... Haha... We were selling our badges to Leos too... Wow! Our L.E.O. badge were selling too FAST... We got no more to bring back to Kuantan already... ==

Then, the Leo Idol 2010 and Open Mic Performance started! Nice voices and performances through our eyes saw them... amzaing... But we were tired and needed got prepared for our FELLOWSHIP NIGHT - PORTEZ UN CHAPEAU (Wear a hat)... We got in our room. Two single beds! The room was quite nice! We went for bath... Later on, two Leos from SMJK Chee Wen, Bahau went in. They were our roomates! Nice to meet you... Firstly we thought just have 5 of guys will stay in there. More awhile... Two Leos from SMK Datuk Lokman, Kuala Lumpur came in. They were our roomates too!!! Wow! 7 of us squeezed in this two single beds room?? It shouldn't be!

At 7pm, Chief delegates went to Level 1 the Ballroom to take our dinner. It was a "DINNER BOX"!
We ate quickly. No time for us to discuss about that. We quickly had our bath and dressed nicely. Theme wear... We all wore a cap and hat... The fellowship night was like a concert. All Leos enjoyed it! There were artists fom TV8 and Leo Idols performed shows. Leos shouted and screamed like in a concert... At about 10pm something, we got sleepy and went back room. The Leos were still enjoying their night.

On the next day, we woke up at 6.30am for bath and got ready. The night was really cold like snowing... Wow!!! Chief delegates went to Level 1 for taking our breakfast... OMG, some Leos said that the breakfast were yesterday's supper.. Is it TRUE?? We ate and went to ballroom for opening ceremony.

The VIPs, Lions & O.C. gave speeches... Like usual... Untill 11am... Then is the FORUM THEME TALK - Z.E.A.L. (Zealous Energy Augments Leadership)... This 37th MD 308 Leo Forum was organized by Alpha Leos for the first time. So, what alpha Leos can't do it??? Nothing is impossible in Leo Club. Talk...Talk...Talk...

Finally, Lunch time reached. The Enterance was too full of delegates and the lifts were slow. We got out from the door quickly and have our journey - walk up to Level 12 on stair cases! Wow... Amazing right?? We ate our lunch. The lunch was a LUNCH BOX!!! The vegetables in it was bitter and not nice at ALL! Woooh... Then we got continued the Forum with the Sub-District Forum - District 308 B1. It was the presentation of AWARD... But we didn't got any even the MERIT AWARD... We got the AWARD for Achivement - LEO KEK JIA HOW (Past Treasurer)...

Later we went on room and got prepared for our Banquet Night - OSCAR NITE. We boarded bus to the restaurant. 7 of us-TP Leos and 4 of DL Leos were in the same table. We really had FATE!!! We had Shark Fin's soup, chicken, fish, friend rice, ice-cream etc. there... Performances, shows and AWARD presentation were in the NITE too... We were so dissapointed with the AWARDS.. No doubts!

About 12am++, we boarded bus back to the hotel. 1am++ sleep...

Leo Forum 3rd Day...

The BREAKFAST BOX was exactly the same with 2nd Day of Leo Forum! Wow! So disappointed larrrr.... We ate then went down to lobby with our luggages. We put our luggages in the secretariat room for safety. We went up Level 1 for school for incoming Leo Key Officers and Closing Ceremony. We sat in a round dinner table. Listen... Talk... Got the activities' idea and bought badges.

12.30pm, Lunch served. It was just like taking out from the LUNCH BOX into a big container... But still okay... We ate and got out from ballroom - took pictures with other LEOs... Nice to meet you all guys!!! Come visit us... We will bring you a trip.. XD

Then, we moved our luggage to Omega's Hotel. We put them in and got out to Ipoh Parade for shopping. That tourguide brought us to few roads and took about 15 minutes but actually it was just 3 minutes from the hotel. Lolx

We went shopping and went back at 3.15pm. We rested, bathed an got ready to checked out from the hotel. We put pur luggage in a travel agent shop in the lobby. We went out for dinner. The restaurant was full of people althought it was just 6pm! We waited for a short while and got our seats for Ipoh's well-known food - Bean sprouts chicken... We ate and walked along and bought souveniers for families and friends. Great happy day.! Then, we had our “sweet soup” in a restaurant which is just opposite of the hotel. Nice...

Leo Steven - exchange student from Sichuan, China is like a comedian and talked jokes. We went to the McDonald near the bus station by taxi (RM10) per drive. We then run with luggage like Marathon to the bus station. We were sweat and tired. The jokes and laugh followed us board bus at 10pm.

In the morning 4am, we reached Kuantan Terminal. We went back home.

Conclusion =>> It was a nice trip. Although the Leo Forum is not good enoghh like past forums, but it is a good try for Alpha Leos to organize this 37th MD 308 Leo Forum! Congratulations!

Code of Conduct
1. ID Tag MUST be worn by Delegates at all times throughout the Forum after registration. Delegate without ID Tag will NOT BE ALLOWED to participate in any Forum events. Delegate who do not wear the ID tag, a fine of RM20. Disciplinary action will be taken to those who are caught without the ID Tag for the second time.
2. Replacement for LOST of ID TAG is RM50 upon verification.
3. ATTENDANCE is COMPULSORY for all delegates for all Forum events. Only delegates who attend all the events will be presented with the Forum certificate of attendance.
4. PUNCTUALITY must be observed for all Forum events.
5. The FOC reserves the rights to impose disciplinary actions on the following misconducts:
• Any sort of misbehaviors, rowdiness, violation of house rules, fighting gambling, smoking and consuming of alcoholic drinks is forbidden
• Any form (s) of yelling or screaming at FOCs despite any dissatisfaction
• Any forms of disruption to the flow of the Forum program, in any form (incl. the above)
• Lights off at 12.30am for both 1st and 2nd night.
• Any delegate(s) found in the rooms of the opposite sex
• Leaving any Forum events without permission from the FOC in writing (Note: You have to fill up a form to leave the Forum events/locations and it has to be verified by a Leo Advisor present. Your parents/guardians will be contacted to confirm the permission is granted)
6. All complaints can be directed to FOC Chief Advisor, Lion Alan Thoo. The FOC reserves the rights to contact the parents of the respective delegate(s) and they may be sent home at their own costs for their conduct. No refunds of the Forum will be entertained.
7. Visitors (parents of delegates only) must register at secretariat room prior to entering the Forum Venue.
8. Outsiders are prohibited from entering the Forum Venue. This includes friends or members of the same club or another club who is not a registered Forum delegate who choose to visit.
9. Delegate(s) must observe the Dress Code for all Forum events.

Hotel Rules and Regulations
1. No phone calls are allowed in hotel rooms (except room to room call)
2. Any room service charges will be borne by delegates themselves.
3. All delegates must observe cleanliness of all rooms.
4. Hotel properties are not allowed to be taken out unless they are purchased from the hotel.
5. Delegates must obey hotel regulations.
6. The delegate(s) concerned will be responsible for any cost of repair or Replacement of damaged hotel properties.

Due to the exam weeks, we had postponed the date of LEO RECYCLE BAG DESIGNING COMPETITION. It is now from 18th May to 22nd June!!! Certificates will be given to competitors. Please take the competition entry form from Leo Ku Meng Chu (4S1) or Leo Chew Pei Ying (2K11). Hurry up~!! Forms are limited. Competitors must draw their drawings on the entry form. Any drawings on other paper is NOT available.

The Fiscal B.O.D. was interviewed on the next day, Saturday (1st May 2010) at 8am at school canteen. All Form 2 to Form 4's B.O.D. attended the interview.

Leo Rubik's Cube Competition which held on last Saturday, the 27th of February 2010 had successful did with the Leo SMK Air Putih. We were good partners in organizing this event.

At the first, we were thinking about to cancel this activity seem like not much participants take part in it. But, with our determination, we continued in 'promoting' this activity to let more people know what is it. Luckily, our Leo get 19 participants and 3 groups to take part in this competition.

Two Leo of us enjoy organizing this activity and lastly we made perfectly.

Most important is the sponsorship who had sponsored us and gave us helping hands in this competition. Thank you Lion Chong : President of Lions Club of Kuantan 2009-2010, Y.B. Chang : Adun Teruntum, Lions Club of Kuantan, Berjaya Megamall, Hawaii Bakery & Food Industries (M) Sdn. Bhd., Koperasi SMK Air Putih and Natural Art Advertisement.
